The blade is sharp and dangerous even when not in use. Retract the blade and cover it when not in use. If possible unplug it from the wall socket when not in use. When using the saw make sure you are using all the prescribed protection. This includes eye, body and hand protection. Do not operate when under the medication or under the influence of alcohol. That's a recipe for disaster. Hope you enjoy your table saw!
Make sure it has all the accessories you will need. There are a number of jigs that can be added to the saw to get different cuts and functions. Also buy a couple of spare blades and a blade guard. Some come with dust collection attachments as well. Make sure the safety features work. Most bench and table saws now come with a flesh censor. The flesh sensor shuts off and retracts the saw the moment it comes into contact with skin. You can test this feature with a frank or salami log. The feature is great and saves your fingers but the saw becomes inoperable after that. You will need to call in a technician to replace the saw arm before you can use it again.
Buying a vacation house in Canada, and finding benches from a church in our mud room. Passing by collection of benches outside the principal's office, holding a collection of students defiant, repentant, and dazed about their indiscretions. Watching tiny indoor benches, holding preschoolers alone and in clusters, waiting in endless time outs.
Buying a few yards of gorgeous upholstery fabric, and learning to recover a hand-me-down bench into an original treasure that the rest of the family envies. Getting an bench storage chest as a birthday gift, and filling it with things I needed for the first home of my own. Sitting on a bench on the beach boardwalk, meeting an old friend for an afternoon walk. Bringing home bright plastic toy boxes that double as a kiddie indoor benches, and watching my little ones being excited about putting away toys. Filling my hallway with a pair of indoor benches that create spaces for a peaceful pause at the end of a busy day.
